John Wizard: YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN!Absolutely great game! The main quest is linear, so it's simple, and the side quests are interesting and easily completed without having to go back again and again. There's no grinding cause enemies are all gone after you defeated them once, so it's not boring. The cap of level 50 as being the max was sad though...The storyline, as usual of any JW game, is twisty and heartwarming. I'm still sad about the death of somebody's brother. Mannnnnnnn...Whatever it is, this game is definitely worth it! And on sale! Goodness! What a steal!!!. I seriously gave it a lot of thought if I should recommend the game or not as I like games by John Wizard. Unfortunately, I just can't get myself to enjoy this at all. This has nothing to do with the story line but rather the game play and concept of fights. If you like rpg maker games and a challenge, you should pick it up as it's not expensive at all. Now to why I can't enjoy it:- Monsters get stronger as well whenever you level up or get more party members.- No healing after level up.- Hard to outrun enemies which makes it nearly impossible to escape the battles.- Attack is mainly focused on one character because of the percentage.Overall, I have to use healing items a lot or I keep dying every second fight. I am a very casual player and want to relax while playing, not getting frustrated. I am not saying that it is a bad game though. It's just not the type of gameplay I enjoy in a rpg maker game. In my opinion it would be better if there was an easy mode that would give the player an edge over the enemies or let you at least heal whenever you level up.. Loved this game alot! The puzzles ranged from easy to annoying to tough!Tons of sidequests, that I did not complete all of them.Interesting story - I usually just breeze through the dialogue in most games, but this one was interesting and related to tthe development of the game.I will be replaying to try to finish all the quests.. I thought my review took, but maybe not. In any case, if you're wanting something that's closer to the SNES JRPG feel, this game's for you. Sure, it has the RPG Maker feel to it, but JW has crafted an excellent game here with a great story, excellent side quests, some fun and some frustrating puzzles.. A fun and amazingly in-depth RPG Maker game with lots of stuff to do; not just quests, but things like fishing, and delivering mail a-la Paper Mario. I've been doing a Let's Play of this game and I've immensely enjoyed it so far. If you'd like to check it out, I've included the link to the first episode! https:\/\/youtu.be\/JqcCL86wb_o. I was pleasantly surprised by this game. While the story itself was nothing special, the satire and comedy was great. I found myself enjoying that enough to want to explore the all of the nooks and crannies. I did not find everything, but I was fairly close by the time I hit endgame.I did not particularly enjoy the automatic enemy scaling power to match your level and number of party members, but it did make it feel like you were always challenged. All in all, it was a good RPG maker game that had a fair bit of effort put into it, and it was well worth the price.. One of the best games I've seen since the Aveyond series. There are many "Pros" to this game and very few "Cons" in my opinion. I've played MANY of these RPG maker games. Most of them I wind up giving up halfway through. Either I lost interest in the storyline, characters or the game in general. The biggest CON for me in some RPG maker games is that the mobs are invisible and you never know when you're gonna be attacked. Random frequent accounters will make me stop playing some games in 10 minutes (or less). I'm happy to say that is not the case with THIS game. You can see your mobs and easily decide whether to fight them or not. So if you are just trying to do a specific quest and get in and get out then you can avoid them. However I recommend fighting all the mobs in this game b\/c there really are NOT that many and the fighting is pretty evened out. Meaning that you are not extremely overpowered and kill them in one hit and likewise the mobs are not so overpowered (as long as you keep killing them and not avoiding them) that they kill you very easily either. I like the storyling. I'm about 8 hours into the game. Now, I like to take my time and do all of the side quests before moving on to the next area. The mobs, once you kill them, do not repawn. So once you kill all the mobs in a specific area, you are free to roam the area at will. The quests are unique and the story line is intriguing. The menu and fighting style is pretty standard of RPG maker games. There are save points literally EVERYWHERE so at any given point you are only seconds away from a save point which I like. I like the Atlas style map and it is comes in very handy when I'm not sure which island is on what seas. I check the Atlas very often. Now the only CON I really found is that not one of the people have a healing skill. You have to reply on strictly potions for all healing. You do find a ton of potions but it's not nearly enough so you will have to buy a lot of them. The equipment is not outragiously priced or frequent so you will have plenty of money left over for the potions. It's harder in the lower levels to have enough money though. The people are all pretty much the same. The characters are the only unique facial features. The looks of all of the shop keepers and town residents are pretty much recycled from town to town. Overall I like this game very much and if you are a fan of the rpg maker games then I think you will enjoy it too.. The most amazing game on earth. LOVE IT.. Got this game cheap on sale and had 20 hours of fun. A lot of quests, sidequests, funny dialogues. My only con is the leveling up system, where everything level up with you and it kinda ruins the strategy part. Nonetheless I had a lot of fun and recommend the game.
